Oman
The size of the economy in Oman has been growing steadily, and market conditions are stable. Oman is a member of the Gulf Cooperation Council and also holds a Free Trade Agreement with the United States. Canada and Oman have a growing trade and investment relationship. There is high potential for Canadian trade and investment opportunities in Oman in all sectors, but most particularly in oil and gas, mining and infrastructure and environment. Canadian companies should be aware of restrictions on meat exports to Oman which must comply with existing Halal requirements.
Key Canadian exports to Oman include machinery and equipment, forestry, aerospace and automotive. EDC has developed relationships with financial institutions and major international customers in the country to continue to open doors to Canadian companies doing business in Oman.
