Canada has an established and growing trade relationship with Qatar. Business opportunities exist across a wide range of sectors that match Canadian capabilities, most particularly in oil and gas (both upstream and downstream); oil and gas equipment and services; infrastructure and environment; as well as information and communication technologies. In addition to these, EDC will look at transactions in any sector in which Canadian firms companies have found opportunities.
With representation in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, EDC is actively providing on-the-ground support to Canadian companies doing business in Qatar. EDC has developed relationships with leading Qatari financial institutions (such as Qatar National Bank) and major Qatari buyers in key industry sectors (such as Qatar Petroleum) in order to open doors to Canadian companies.
