Stakeholder Engagement
In addition to our CSR Advisory Council, we regularly hold public consultations and information sessions in order to connect and talk with our stakeholders on issues of mutual concern. We also conduct Annual Public Meetings to hear from members of the public.
In 2010, we held a public comment period to solicit feedback for revisions to our Environmental and Social Risk Management Policy, Disclosure Policy and Environmental and Social Review Directive. Participants included customers, non-governmental organizations and subject experts. We received valuable input and prepared a response on common themes that emerged from the review.
In 2010, we held an engagement session on the revision of the International Finance Corporation's (IFC) Performance Standards on Social and Environmental Sustainability, which gave stakeholders the opportunity to provide input to the revision process and engage directly with the IFC.
Industry Stakeholder Panel
Our Industry Stakeholder Panel brings together 18 national business and industry associations with shared interests in Canadian trade and investment. During annual meetings members identify common priorities, competitive issues and market developments, examine questions of major significance to Canada’s exporters and draw attention to areas where Canada is falling behind.
