During the first week of Joe Biden’s presidency in 2021, the new administration issued an executive order aimed at strengthening compliance with the Buy American Act, to invest in the country’s manufacturing industry and to boost federal purchases of U.S.-made goods. While it’s estimated only a small number of Canadian businesses have been impacted, exporters should examine their supply chain to ensure that they’re competitive in light of these requirements.
