To be approved by EDC, advisory services must meet the following criteria:
- Be a registered Canadian company;
- Have been in business for at least 3 years;
- Must not be an "affiliate” of the borrower. "Affiliate" means any person that directly or indirectly controls (e.g. parent company), or is under common control with (e.g. sister company), or is controlled by (e.g. subsidiary), the borrower;
- Must be C-TPAT-certified (applicable to logistics companies);
- Does not appear on the “suspected terrorist activity listing”;
- Can show proof they have provided advisory services to a minimum of 3 companies that have been validated Tier Two or higher.
