Accounts Receivable Insurance
Accounts Receivable Insurance (ARI) covers your full book of business for up to 90 per cent of your losses against such commercial risks as your customer refusing to pay. Coverage can be flexible to accommodate your unique needs including ARI for your foreign affiliates.Other risks covered may include:
- refusal to accept the goods;
- bankruptcy or insolvency;
- cancellation of import or export permits;
- currency transfer;
- war, revolution, or insurrection; and
- contract cancellation.

Qualification
Any Canadian business that exports goods or services can apply. ARI policy administration, including monthly premiums, is easy to manage online and support is available by phone or through EDC Direct.
Cost
Premium rates vary based on a variety of factors including products or services sold, shipping location, and terms of payment. An initial set-up fee applies and premiums are payable monthly based on sales volumes during that month. No premiums are payable on outstanding receivables that carry over from one month to the next.
Claims
As a customer, if you encounter a collection problem, you can use our online debt management system within EDC Direct to report a debt, submit a claim, or engage a collection agency.
