ear, an internship is offered to one full-time student who has successfully completed the FITTskills program. This one-year internship is designed to provide the work experience necessary to apply for the Certified International Trade Professional (CITP) designation. As a national platinum partner to AIESEC Canada, we support AIESEC’s Global Internship Program which places Canadian students on international work placements and receives foreign students to work in Canada. This program fosters international leadership, diversity, cultural understanding, and corporate social responsibility. EDC is also an active partner in AIESEC’s national conferences and engages AIESEC in the promotion of EDC’s International Business Scholarships.
University of Waterloo: Export Development Canada Environmental Finance Chair
To encourage environmental leadership by Canadian firms, we have endowed a Chair in Environmental Finance at the University of Waterloo's School of Environment, Enterprise and Development (SEED). Dr. Olaf Weber was appointed to the chair. In his this role, Dr. Weber conducts research and teaches in the field of environmental and sustainable finance putting a strong emphasis on the interaction between business and sustainable development.
York University: Schulich School of Business
In 2011, we signed a five-year collaboration agreement with the Schulich School of Business at York University to create a National Curriculum in Integrative Trade for undergraduate business students. The Curriculum will help develop business leaders who can successfully manage international trade, foreign investment and global supply chains. As part of the agreement, Schulich will create a new undergraduate Certificate Program in Managing International Trade and Foreign Investment.
McGill University: Program for International Competitiveness
Through the Program for International Competitiveness at McGill University’s Desautels Faculty of Management, we sponsor the development of a series of practical, industry-friendly case studies on international business and corporate competitiveness.
