Uruguay has one of the most business-friendly investment environments in Latin America and while it may lack the large natural resource endowments of its larger neighbors, it nevertheless has attracted significant foreign investments in forestry/wood pulp, agribusiness, infrastructure and renewable energy. Its business environment is strengthened by a stable political environment, robust bank supervision, and participation in the Mercosur economic block with its neighbors.
