Business has been unusual. But you kept moving, finding new markets, new models and new ways to sell. So why go back to the usual path now? Grow your business at home or abroad with support from Export Development Canada. We’re here to help you take the unusual way forward.

Working Capital & Financing

We help companies improve cash flow through banks or credit unions to help manage day-to-day expenses like buying inventory and paying suppliers. We share the risk with financial institutions (FI) by providing a guarantee on the money borrowed, encouraging FIs to increase your access to working capital.

With EDC Credit Insurance, 90% of your insured losses are covered. Our credit insurance protects companies against the risk of non-payment caused by an array of events including customer bankruptcy or non-payment, contract cancellation, issues with currency conversion or transfer, and more.

Trade Expertise

We have a variety of tools available to you to help you locate potential buyers, understand international markets, find qualified service providers, take advantage of economic forecasts, and more. We also have a vast array of articles, blogs, webinars, and other resources which help you through your exporting journey.

Proprietary tech pushes growth

Poseidon Ocean Systems embraced the unusual way forward by developing a proprietary cleantech system designed to revolutionize salmon farming. Working with Export Development Canada, they’re now bringing sustainability to fisheries around the world.  Using EDC’s Investment Matching Program, Poseidon was able to gain access to the capital they needed to explore new sales models and pivot their focus to more profitable, export-ready tech.
