Jordan is a small economy with limited natural resources and financial capabilities. The GDP growth halved, since 2008, mostly due to the financial crisis and its impact on the country's industrial zone for the production of textile, aerospace, cosmetic, pharmaceuticals and tourism. Despite a slight recovery, with forecasted GDP at over 4%, opportunities remain limited. Manufacturing, construction, real estate, services and tourism are the key economic drivers for the country. Canada's recently signed a Free Trade Agreement with Jordan which should bolster trade volumes between countries. Business opportunities exist across a wide range of sectors that match Canadian capabilities.
