When we provide financing to your foreign customer, we take on the risk of non-payment. Funds are paid directly to you, so your business reaps the benefits of a cash sale.
Find flexible financing solutions
We offer a number of buyer financing solutions and we can customize them to meet your needs. Our repayment terms are flexible, typically ranging from two to five years.
Loans: We can provide loans directly to your foreign buyer. Or, if your customer needs consolidated financing, we may be able to help by participating in corporate loan facilities.
Lines of Credit: If your foreign buyer plans to buy repeatedly from you or other Canadian companies, we may be able to establish a line of credit for them. We also have lines of credit with financial institutions in many countries who can lend to your foreign customer.
- Guarantees: We can work with your foreign customer’s financial institution to share risk by offering a guarantee covering their loan to your customer for the purchase of capital goods and services.
In the small and mid-market segments we partner with financial institutions through our Customer Financing Guarantee to add financing capacity in the commercial lending market for Canadian export sales.
In the corporate, structured and project finance segments, we can partner with financial institutions through our Bank Guarantee Program which is designed to support medium- and long-term export credits to buyers in emerging markets when competitive bidding is present.
We can provide financing to foreign buyers for purchases of capital goods and/or services from Canada which can be financed over a two to five year period. We require financial information on the foreign buyer and other documentation.
We offer competitive rates to borrowers based on credit quality, general market conditions, and the length of repayment terms being considered. An exposure fee may be charged in connection with our export financing, consistent with OECD guidelines.
