Liz Zhang is a CITP® (Certified International Trade Professional). She joined EDC in 2016 in the enterprise risk management team, where she developed knowledge of the various risks that Canadian exporters often encounter in their international business journey and the potential solutions for risk mitigation. Liz later moved to the knowledge business team in 2018. In partnership with the RBC Ventures and the global trade team for helping Canadian businesses selling to China via e-commerce, Liz had actively engaged in business development, as well as research and development of an online questionnaire for assessing companies’ readiness for penetrating China’s online marketplaces. Liz also has been working with the Go2Market stream, where she has contributed to EDC InList and the Export Help Hub—Mexico. 

Prior to her EDC journey, Liz had more than six years in international business development, primarily focusing on the promotion of Canadian businesses to the Asia-Pacific region. She had worked with various organizations including the Consider Canada City Alliance, Global Affaires Canada, Invest in Canada, Invest Ottawa, Heritage Canada and Ottawa Tourism, for events such as Shanghai Expo 2010, two of  the Ottawa mayor’s business delegations to China, the Canada-China Investment Forum and more.
