Canada’s forestry industry grapples with impacts of COVID-19

The Canadian forestry industry has been facing numerous challenges in recent years, from forest fires to provincial regulations and supply chain disruptions—especially the lack of available fibre. Most recently, the pandemic has pushed companies to curtail production or close outright in response to slack demand and volatile market prices. Forestry producers may have to wait until 2021 for the recovery to pick up steam.
