An ecosystem of organizations to help Canadian companies throughout their export journey
EDC works with a wide range of partners and financial institutions, within Canada and abroad, to support Canadian exporters. Our solutions are available through most major Canadian financial institutions.
Since most of EDC’s financial solutions are delivered in collaboration with your financial institution (scheduled banks, credit unions, alternative lenders), your account manager will work with EDC to determine the right solution for you.
Speak to your commercial account or relationship manager at your financial institution about your international growth plans, and to find out if EDC solutions could help you increase your working capital.
EDC is one of several government organizations that supports Canadian companies to grow and succeed internationally. EDC works closely with its government partners and the following tools have been developed to support Canadian companies throughout their exporting journey.

BDC is Canada’s business bank devoted exclusively to entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises. They help create and develop strong Canadian businesses through financing, advisory services and capital. We work with BDC, our sister crown corporation, in a complementary way to help Canadian companies throughout their growth journey.
BDC can help you:
The Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC) supports you to pursue sales to foreign governments at all levels and provides a government-to-government contracting mechanism that de-risks the transaction for both you and your buyer. CCC partners with qualified Canadian businesses to advocate for your proposal and level the playing field.
As Canada’s leading agriculture lender, Farm Credit Canada (FCC) lives and breathes Canadian agriculture and agri-food. They support, strengthen, and celebrate the industry and lend money and provide other services to primary producers, agri-food operations and agribusinesses that provide inputs or add value to agriculture. We work with FCC to increase financial support to exporting agri-food companies.
Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) works with Canadians in all areas of the economy and in all parts of the country to improve conditions for investment, enhance Canada's innovation performance, increase Canada's share of global trade, and build a fair, efficient, and competitive marketplace.
ISED can help you:
The Canadian Trade Commissioner Service (TCS) is Canada’s most comprehensive network of international business professionals. The TCS helps companies navigate the complexities of international markets and make better business decisions. On the ground in more than 160 cities worldwide, the TCS is gaining market intelligence, uncovering opportunities for Canadian companies, and helping reduce business costs and risks. The TCS and EDC work in close collaboration to support Canadian exporters and investors of all sizes to help them succeed in international markets.
The TCS is a free service of the Government of Canada, helping companies prepare for international markets, assess market potential, find qualified contacts, and resolve business.
