In July 2021, Dave joined EDC as our first national lead for Black exporters. A long-time diversity and inclusion consultant, Dave is meeting with Black business owners to gain a better understanding of their needs and strategic priorities and building new relationships with Black business-serving organisations to identify opportunities for partnerships. 

He is also meeting with financial institutions to discuss their solutions for Black businesses and reviewing EDC’s existing financial and knowledge products to determine how we can make them more accessible to Black business owners, so they’re better equipped to go global.

Dave brings a wealth of knowledge to his role from his involvement with several organizations, including the Canadian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association's Diversity and Inclusion Committee and the Black Innovation Fellowship Screening Committee at the DMZ at Ryerson University in Toronto. He’s a member of the Desautels Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Working Group for the Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill University in Montreal.
