Today Export Development Canada (EDC) was named among the National Capital Region’s Top Employers for the ninth time since 2006.
The annual ranking recognizes employers in the Ottawa-Gatineau metropolitan area that lead their industries in offering exceptional workplaces for their employees, assessing businesses for their work atmosphere, employee benefits, employee communications, performance management, training and skills development, and community involvement.
“One of the main reasons why people choose to work, and stay, at EDC is because of our mandate to help Canadian companies go, grow and succeed internationally,” said Stephanie Butt Thibodeau, Senior Vice-President of Human Resources, EDC. “We are proud to offer a positive work environment where employees can give their best, are highly engaged, and can make a difference for Canadian companies.”
As part of its evaluation of EDC, Mediacorp highlighted a number of workplace features and employee programs that make EDC an employer of choice. EDC was recognized for its support for maternity and parental leave, generous vacation allowance and health plan, and offering academic scholarships to children of employees pursuing post-secondary education.
The annual ranking was released today by Mediacorp Inc., a specialty publisher of employment-related periodicals, and published in the Ottawa Citizen.
