Business environment in Kenya

Kenya's political situation has been impacted in recent years by ethnic tensions, however, the medium-term prospects have improved with the adoption of a new constitution in 2010. Kenya is the largest economy in Eastern Africa. It enjoys a good degree of diversification, which makes it less vulnerable to commodity price fluctuations. Kenya's economy has faced challenges in recent years, however prospects are better as the country consolidates its recovery. The country is considered to be a regional commercial hub and trade is important to its economy. Canada and Kenya have established a moderate trade and investment relationship. Important sectors for the Kenyan economy include agriculture, tourism, manufacturing and services. There are also good opportunities for Geothermal power development.
