As a bridge between the public and private sectors, we play an important role in bringing together diverse groups to both leverage opportunities and help address the challenges faced by Canadian businesses, both at home and abroad.

Our stakeholders

Through extensive engagement with our stakeholder groups, including financial partners, customers, industry and trade associations, civil society organizations and employees, we learn from, and welcome, the different perspectives they bring.

Staying connected

We stay connected to our stakeholders through regular consultations, surveys and meetings, as well as direct outreach and feedback channels.

Annual public meeting

This meeting is an opportunity for all stakeholders to learn more about EDC and ask questions about our policies, business, priorities and plans.

ESRM Policy Framework review

At least once every three years, we carry out a review of our Environmental Social Risk Management Framework policies. This involves extensive stakeholder consultation to help us identify ways to better align our policies with best practices, stakeholder needs and emerging risks.

Industry Stakeholder Panel

Our Industry Stakeholder Panel brings together national business and industry associations with shared interests in Canadian trade and investment. Our annual meetings provide the opportunity to:

  • identify common priorities
  • highlight market trends
  • discuss the opportunities and challenges of Canadian exporters
  • share ideas to boost Canada’s economy through trade

Civil Society Organizations Panel

This panel brings together CSOs to discuss of EDC’s mandate, products and services, as well as our approach to due diligence and risk management. It is also an opportunity for us to hear directly from CSOs as part of our ongoing dialogue.

Materiality assessment

Our materiality assessments help us identify, understand and manage the ESG risks and opportunities that matter most to our business and stakeholders.
