Danny Xu is Export Development Canada’s Marketing business partner for the Indo-Pacific. In this role, he leads the strategic marketing efforts designed to help Canadian exporters commit to and succeed in one of the world’s most dynamic economic regions.
Danny brings a unique perspective to the role, rooted in his own diverse experience as an exporter. His journey spans from building a premium vodka brand from concept to launch as an entrepreneur, to scaling a Canadian CPG company into multiple international markets with hands-on marketing execution across the Indo-Pacific. He further expanded his expertise by driving product strategy and go-to-market planning at a trade technology firm.
Previously, Danny served as an Advisor in EDC’s International Business Advisory team. There, he worked on the frontlines with Canadian companies, helping them navigate complex regulatory landscapes and market entry challenges. This diverse background, spanning entrepreneurship, global scaling, trade technology, and advisory, allows him to approach marketing with a deeply practical understanding of the exporter’s journey.
Danny holds a Certified International Trade Professional (CITP®) designation, is an MBA candidate at Boston University.
