Willy Fogang is a seasoned trade and finance professional with more than 12 years of experience at Export Development Canada (EDC). He began his career at EDC as a risk management intern and has progressed through a series of increasingly senior roles, including account manager for small and medium-sized enterprises, senior account manager for the mid-market and regional director. Today, he serves as team lead for Mid-Market Business in the Prairies, overseeing a high-performing team that supports companies across Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. His leadership is grounded in a deep understanding of international trade, risk mitigation and client relationship management.
In his current role, Fogang leads a team of relationship managers and account directors focused on helping mid-market companies expand internationally. He drives strategic initiatives to grow EDC’s presence while fostering partnerships with financial institutions and trade organizations. His passion for international trade and economic development is also reflected in his work as a sessional instructor at the University of Manitoba and the Manitoba Institute of Trade and Technology, where he teaches courses in international trade finance and strategic global supply chain management.
Fogang holds an MBA in Global Leadership from the University of Fredericton and a bachelor of commerce in finance (cum laude) from the University of Ottawa. He is a certified banking and credit analyst (CBCA) through the Corporate Finance Institute and a certified international trade professional (CITP) through the Forum for International Trade Training (FITT). His combination of academic achievement, professional certifications and practical experience has established him as a trusted leader in Canada’s trade ecosystem.
