Export Development Canada (EDC) proudly celebrates a decade of regional presence and successful business partnerships in Colombia.

EDC’s representation opened its doors in Bogotá in 2013, two years after the Canada-Colombia Free Trade Agreement was ratified. Since then, EDC has played an important role in promoting and supporting trade relations between the two countries, which has dramatically increased over the years. Last year, two-way merchandise trade reached $3.2 billion, to the benefit of both economies.

The presence in Colombia has enabled EDC to offer tailored solutions to exporters while both countries tap into each other's strengths, expertise and demands. With a focus on investing in sectors such as infrastructure, agri-food, cleantech and energy, bilateral trade and investment have the potential to vastly increase. The office has facilitated business transactions and connections, resulting in over 100 Canadian companies establishing a presence in the Colombian market and more than 320 customers served annually.
