Zambia enjoys relative political stability. Mining (copper) and agriculture are key components of the economy, with private consumption growing also over the last years. Business environment is favourable and has attracted foreign direct investment. The country has substantial mining reserves, which will contribute to economic growth in the coming years. The country is a member of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) and the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC). Canada has a limited trade relationship with Zambia.
